Suelain Emporium Sabangna Thai @ Subiaco Market

Hi guys!!! Sawatdee Ka!!! Gosh, it has almost been 1 week since the last post was up! Anyway, the past week has been madness for us, with lots of tests, projects, assignments, tutorials etc. Deadlines deadlines deadlines :( !!! (Well, we did manage to squeeze in some time for shopping though HAHA!)

Alright, so I'm VERY excited to blog about this next place. Why?
That's because this place is JUST THAT GOOD! We patronise this Thai food place every week without fail! See, I know you must be thinking, 'wow it must be damn good eh?'
YES!!!

Here's the sign board

I know the sign board's a little blah but that's alright, we're at a market right? And at least the food is good (:

So without further ado, let me present to you, the star of this entry: Tom Yum Fried Rice!!!

Look at it! Doesn't it make you hungry right away? Well, I've never tried Tom Yum Fried Rice prior to my stay in Perth and I can proudly announce that it (at least this one) is one of my favourite savoury dish! Furthermore, everyone that I've brought to try it agrees with me too!
So basically, this is the Tom Yum Fried Rice with Seafood. When you're placing your orders, you can choose from a selection of:
1. Seafood
2. Beef
3. Chicken
Then after that, you can specify how spicy you want it to be - mild, medium hot! So thoughtful right?
Personally, I like it HOT. If you love spicy food like me, just go for it, you won't regret it!
The Tom Yum Fried Rice is packed with flavour that just explodes in your mouth. It's a combination of sweet,  salty, sour and spiciness. I don't know how to put it into words really, you've just got to try it for yourself!
It doesn't matter which ingredient you pick because they are all nice but we unanimously agree that the Seafood one is the best!

Here's the Pad Basil (Beef). Again, you can pick from one of the 3 choices - Seafood, Beef of Chicken. In fact, you can choose from these 3 choices regardless of what you are ordering. This time round, we chose beef. It was delicious! The gravy is really very nice, I can just eat plain rice with the gravy.

This is the Beef Noodle Soup! Another lip smackingly delicious dish! We all love the soup so much that sometimes we don't even finish the noodles but the soup will be all gone. The noodle (I think it's rice noodle?) is very soft and smooth - it's absolutely delightful! Haha

The classic Tom Yum Soup. Again, you can choose to have one of the 3 choices.
It's good, but my suggestion would be that you don't order this when you're having the Tom Yum Fried Rice. It will be too much Tom Yum to handle!

Yup, so that's all for the Thai Food Stall at Subi Market. If you stay in Perth, or are in Perth for some reason, please go visit this stall ok! You won't regret it! (:
So before I end off with my donut ratings, I need to show you one more photo of the Tom Yum Fried Rice ( I don't care) LOL.

This is the Chicken version! (: Doesn't look as appetizing as the Seafood one, but still good!
Aroy aroy!
I just realised that there are NO pictures of us with the food/eating whatsoever! We must have been so busy eating we forgot!

Price:
$11.50 - $13

The Meal:
Need I say more? The food is cooked by authentic Thai chefs, that's why its so good. But I'm giving them a 4.5 because sometimes it's a little inconsistent, depending on who is cooking I guess.

The Ambience:
It's tucked away in one corner of the market, so it's pretty nice actually.

The Service:
The Thai people working there are always so friendly and smiley, I like them alot! The boss is this elderly Caucasian lady and she's quite stern! But she seems to be warming up to us recently! I guess that's because we go there every week!

Overall:
A must try if you're craving for delicious authentic Asian food! Spread the word, I think more people need to know about this stall!

Five Bar

Hey guys! Sorry that it has been so long since we last wrote a new post, but schoolwork has been slowly killing us both! But decided to write today to de-stress! :)

Chris, Loo and I headed to Mount Lawley one Saturday morning/noon-ish on a hunt for a good breakfast! Wanted to try The Beaufort Street Merchant (see below for the post), but unfortunately, we had just missed the breakfast! :( Was very disappointed, but thankfully, we found a place that we were very happy with anyway!

The interior of Five Bar is so inviting! It's bright and open and has so many different types of tables/chairs/places to sit at!

The interior from where we were sitting

When we entered Five Bar, we asked the waiter if they had a breakfast menu, which unfortunately they didn't.  But they do offer some breakfast options on their main menu!

With every good meal, there needs to be a good coffee to go along!
Chris ordered a flat white, Loo had a Latte and I had the Mocha. It was absolutely yummy!

This is what I had! The scrambled eggs with smoked salmon.
I was 100% pleased with it because it was absolutely yummy!!! Loved everything about it! The delicious buttery salty scrambled eggs, the scrumptious smoked salmon (which I always love) and the bread on the side was really out of this world! It was toasted and buttered to perfection!

Loo's scrambled eggs with churizo, similar to what I had but a sausage option!

And this is what Chris had! The rare open beef sandwich!
At first we were a little skeptical as to how '"rare" it would be and what they meant by "rare"! We didn't know if it meant that it would be unique or perhaps raw???
But alas!! It was very very nice as well!! Not scarily raw or anything! Although in the picture, it does look a little strange?
But really really very very nice! The beef was placed on that same delicious bread and in-between it was some coleslaw. The blend of the flavours were absolutely delightful.

But I think we ordered a tad too much! Because we didn't manage to finish everything and we were so full after our meal. :/

Chris and Loo, the best couple ever! :)

And here's Loo and I!

And the three of us, very happy and satisfied!

Price:
Mains $15-$25

The Meal:
So so yummy, can't wait to go back!

The Ambiance:
Relaxed, cosy and very inviting

The Service:
The staff were friendly and helpful!

Overall:
Really had a great meal at Five Bar and would love to go back sometime soon, and bring Huiyi there too! She couldn't make it because it was when her family was here too! But anyway, it was GREAT!

Little Caesars

It was Audrey's last day in Perth we decided to head down to Little Caesars for dinner! We were all very excited because Little Caesars is known for its fantastic savoury and dessert pizzas!!!

Look at how crowded the place is! There were no empty tables at all!!!!

Spotted this on the wall - They were only finalists and not the winner!!!! But who cares, they still make awesome pizzas! However, I wonder who won, those guys must really make pizzas that are out of this world!

Oh, there were many other certificates just like this one! Wowwww impressive eh?

Our customary "waiting for food" shots

So, everything was ordered to share and first, we had a bowl of Caesar salad. Wow it was good! I guess you can't really go wrong with Caesar salad right? Most places seem to be able to do a good job. Anyway, those 4 breadlike things were quite nice too! They were a little bit salty, and they went well with the salad. Too bad they only tasted good in the beginning, after a while, they started to become very hard! zZzz.

We ordered 3 pizzas. This is the Chicken Fettuccine Pizza. It's one of the top favourites in Little Caesars! However, I must say that it's an acquired taste. Not everyone will like it. We like it, but personally, 1 slice of this pizza is enough for me. Anyway, this pizza is damn happening, there are alot of things going on on top of it! Fettuccine pasta, chicken, sundried tomatoes, cream sauce, parmesan cheese, mozzarella cheese and bacon. Hence, too much of this pizza is not a good idea because hello, it's PASTA on top of PIZZA! Gelat!

Say hello to Jane's Addiction. This is our favourite pizza! (:
Creamy sauce, garlic prawns, proscuito ham and cheese. It was scrumpdelicious! Thinking about is enough to make me hungry! It tastes like a garlic prawn pasta on pizza dough. Yums to the max! Four thumbs up!!!!

This one is The Max, or you can also call it The Lot! As the name suggests, there's EVERYTHING on this pizza! Pizza sauce, cheese, ham, mushroon, bacon, peperoni, olives, onion, capsicum, fresh tomato and pineapple! Well, it was nice, average, and a collective 'least favourite' in comparison to the other 2 pizzas.

We were SO FULL after all these food (we couldn't even finish all the pizzas, there were 2 slices left uneaten). But that did not stop us from ordering dessert!!!! Haha, oh well, everyone has another stomach just for desserts right?  Or at least I'm sure most girls do! Alright, and we ordered this.....

Mudhoney!!!
Chocolate mudcake on a pizza base with honey, icing sugar, chocolate buttons and chocolate sauce! We almost died and went to heaven! So it's not surprising that we finished it ALL! (:
Burp.

Price:
Little Caesar (10"): $10-$15
Big Caesar (13"): 10.50-$20.50

The Meal:
Very delicious! Mouthwatering goodness!

The Ambience:
Well, they could have put in more effort to make the place look nicer! So much more could be done to spruce the place up!

The Service:
There were only 2 waiters on the floor, so they were really really busy. It was alright, nothing out of the ordinary.

Overall:
Will definitely go back for the pizzas! I guess people patronise LC for the food and not the ambience etc. So go for it if you love gourmet pizzas!

The Beaufort Street Merchant

Visited The Beaufort Street Merchant in Mt Lawley one Sunday morning for another delicious breakfast! (We've been pampering ourselves with alot of good food lately!) It was a lovely place!

Us with Audrey! She's the reason why we've been eating out everyday for the past week! (She's visiting us from Singapore that's why)

This is how the cafe looks like on the outside:

We love the decor of the cafe!

"You name it, We obtain it!"

There's also a little shopping corner.

"Beer is proof that god loves us and wants us to be happy"

Alright, so where's the food?

The latte.

Cuppuccino.
The coffee was yums as usual (:
That's all for the drinks! I don't know what happened to the rest of the coffee photos!

The Green Eggs and Ham! Eggs Ben and Ham. Well, there was supposed to be spinach but they ran out of spinach!!! :( It was still nice but we're sure it'll taste better with spinach

Big Belly Breakfast! Bacon, Eggs (sunny side up), tomato, beans, mushrooms, chipolatas and ciabatta! There's a vegetarian option as well.

This is the scrambled eggs version of the Big Belly Breakfast! YUM. These are the best scrambled eggs EVER! Haha, alright, maybe not ever, but so far, these are the best we've tasted. You've really got to try them!

That's not all, on top of all these savory dishes, we ordered one more sweet dish.

This is the French Toast with maple syrup, strawberries and fresh bananas! It was awesome! We ate it all up, nothing was spared!

Us with the food! Happy!!! (:
